This course gives you a ticket to the underwater world, which is the basis of recreational diving. The course introduces students to the theory of diving (Archimedes' law-fluidity, pressure and the effect of pressure on the body, diving equipment, breathing underwater, communicating underwater, dive planning, nitrogen omama, decompression sickness, diving safely...).
The theoretical part of the course is conducted with film and slide screenings in Slovenian. Pswelling on-line by watching films or reading printed literature. The instructor is available at all times, either by phone, e-mail or in person, to explain any confusion that the student may have during the theoretical part of the course. Then comes the practical part, which consists of at least 3 visits to the pool, where the diving equipment is familiarised and the pool exercises are carried out. The number of visits to the pool depends on the dynamics of mastering certain exercises. The scheduled dates of the pool visits are 06, 13 and 20 April 2025. At the end of the theoretical part of the course, a knowledge test will be given. This will help the students to prepare for the practical part of the course or the exam, which takes place at sea.
There are four dives in a weekend at sea, the first of which is an exam dive and all the others are consolidation dives.
Delivery of the full course OPEN WATER DIVER is organised at the diving centre DC Kostrena near Rijeka.
